about Nicole

I am a professional counsellor and a Full Member of the New Zealand Christian Counsellors Association (NZCCA). With qualifications in both counselling and primary teaching, I have a deep understanding of children's emotional wellbeing and development. I support children and young people experiencing anxiety, fear, sadness, low mood, anger, bullying, low self-esteem, and grief, helping them develop confidence, resilience, and healthy ways of coping. I am also an approved counsellor with Hope for the Children, a registered ACC Sensitive Claims counsellor, and a registered supplier with Work and Income New Zealand (WINZ).

A safe place to grow.

Healing happens within safe, trusting relationships. My priority is to create an environment where children feel accepted just as they are, without pressure or judgement. As trust develops at their own pace, they are able to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in ways that feel safe and meaningful.

Through play, your child will communicate

When working with children, I primarily use Child-Centred Play Therapy (CCPT). Just as adults often express themselves through words, children naturally communicate through play. In a safe, accepting, and supportive environment, play becomes their language, allowing them to express thoughts, feelings, and experiences that may be difficult to put into words. Through this process, children can work through challenges, develop healthy coping skills, and build emotional resilience at their own pace.

I am also trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy. Every client is unique, so I tailor my therapeutic approach to meet their individual needs, drawing on the methods that will best support their goals and wellbeing..
